Yellow-browed Warbler

Yesterday was a good day for Yellow-browed Warbler. 6 in Viðareiði, 1 in Hvannasund and 2 in Kunoy is a quite good count for the Northern Islands – even though the record is 19 birds present on one island (Vágar 24th september 2011).

Other good birds yesterday included the lingering Barred Warbler and Great Spottet Woodpecker at Viðareiði.

Today I found a good bird from a Faroese perspective. Only a 10th record actually. It looked really good for a few milli seconds before it came out of the scrub. It was a Sedge Warbler – almost as good as a Thick-billed or Eastern O. Warbler…
