I’ve been asked to post some pics of birds seen from above. As there are a lot of pics I’m gonna start with some shots of first winter birds.
Typical first winter ssp. glaucoides. Note two-coloured bill, no distinct band on the tail and the primaries are not dark.
Typical rather pale ssp. kumlieni. Note dark tail band and dark primaries.
Typical light ssp. glaucoides.
Typical rather pale ssp. kumlieni.
Probably the darkest ssp. kumlieni I've seen so far (some birds are almost lead-grey).
Could be both a dark glaucoides and a kumlieni. Primaries not distinctively darker than the birds over all colouration. Any comments?
Another bird that could be both a dark glaucoides and a kumlieni.
