Today I got to spend the entire day in the field. I agreed to meet with Turkey’s toplister – Emin Yoğurtçuoğlu. We met and talked about birds. There were lots of little crakes around, so Emin mentioned, that he had never seen a baillon’s crake. I told him that we were going to find one and five minutes later we found a nice baillon’s crake. The day gave lots and lots of good birds, but I’ll write about them later. Here come some pics of the baillon’s crake – we also saw many little crakes and two spotted crakes – so all in all a ‘crakeing’ day. The weird part is this: The local gets a lifer – the visitor doesn’t!
